Louise Bourgeois
Louise Bourgeois foi uma artista plástica franco-americana, conhecida principalmente por sua escultura Maman, da qual existe uma versão em exposição no MAM-SP, na marquise do Parque Ibirapuera. Fortemente influenciada pelo surrealismo, pelo primitivismo e por escultores modernistas como Alberto Giacometti e Constantin Brancusi, seus trabalhos tendem a ser abstractos e altamente simbólicos, e estão presentes em vários espectáculos e colecções permanentes em museus ou galerias pelo mundo fora.

Louise Bourgeois nasceu em Paris, em 1911. Em 1938, mudou-se para Nova Iorque, naturalizando-se americana. Viveu na cidade até a sua morte, hoje, dia 31 de março de 2010, aos 98 anos.
A alguns estranhará a aparição de Louise Bourgeois em uma revista dedicada à poesia e à textualidade. No entanto, a editora Cosac Naify publicou, há dez anos, o belo volumeDestruição do Pai, Reconstrução do Pai - Escritos e Entrevistas (Cosac Naify: São Paulo, 2000), com organização de Marie-Laure Bernadac e Hans-Ulrich Obrist, e tradução de Alvaro Machado e Luiz Roberto Mendes Gonçalves, que traz muitos textos desta artista que também manteve, como Duchamp e Cage, um trabalho de pesquisa textual que acompanhou seus trabalhos artísticos. O volume abre com um belo texto poético da francesa, que poderíamos remeter ao trabalho de poetas que apreciamos, como Lorine Niedecker ou Orides Fontela.
