Anton Francesco Doni (1513-1574) was a multifaceted figure of the Italian Renaissance, known as a writer, painter, musician, and editor. Born in Florence, he studied in various Italian cities and traveled extensively. His literary work includes novels, short stories, and satirical writings, with 'I Marmi' and 'La Zucca' being some of his most notable publications. Doni was known for his witty, ironic, and sometimes controversial style. He had a close relationship with other artists and intellectuals of the time. Despite his vast output, his figure is sometimes overshadowed by more celebrated contemporaries. He died in Montemerlo.
