António Plácido de Abreu

Poet. Hospitalized since the age of sixteen at the Caramulo Sanatorium, a victim of tuberculosis, he was attending his 2º. year of Historical-Philosophical Sciences when he passed away. He collaborated on A Tribuna, of Luanda, with the article «A Poesia Actual e a Atitude do Poeta». He is represented in Antologia da Novíssima Poesia Portuguesa, 2ª. ed, 1961, by Maria Alberta Menéres and Melo e Castro. His only book was published (posthumously) thanks to the efforts of Mário Pinto de Andrade.
