Bio
Poet. Daughter of the poet António Aleixo. Coming from a large family, which was no stranger to many economic hardships, young Arminda did not go beyond the 2nd grade in her studies. In her soul remained the dissatisfaction of someone who could have gone further had her maternal cradle been more prosperous. She was always extremely proud of being the daughter of the poet Aleixo and, in a certain sense, benefited from his legacy, as she drew inspiration from him to compose her unpretentious verses. However, she lacked the imagery resources that impart a deep philosophical meaning to poetry. The daughter of Aleixo, as she is known, although with touches of talent, was not molded from the clay of genius from which our greatest poets were made. Nevertheless, she published: Raiz do Passado, 1968; and Retalhos do Meu Sentir, ed. da C. M. de Vila Real de Santo António, 1989.
