Bio
Having made his literary debut with a book of post-symbolist inspired verse, Missal de Trovas (1914) written in collaboration with António Ferro, he later dedicated himself to journalism, humorous prose, and theater. Five books of short stories (Quase de Graça, 1930; Mais Um, 1931; Mais Outro, 1932; P. B. X. - Diálogos ao Telefone, 1934, and Contos sem Cotação, 1939), a novella (O Homem Que Salvou o Mundo, 1946), Contos Escolhidos (preface by António Ferro), 1956, and the plays A Traição (1913), Sempre Noivos (1931), and O Processo de Mário Dâmaso (1932), as well as the farce O Exame do Meu Menino (1930), a great success for popular actor Vasco Santana, constitute his literary baggage, augmented in 1988 by the previously unpublished vaudeville Os Meninos d'Oiro, with a preface by António Quadros, the author's nephew.
