Carlos Eurico da Costa

Poet, he was a co-founder in the 1940s, alongside Mário Cesariny, António Maria Lisboa, and Cruzeiro Seixas, of the Portuguese Surrealist Group, even participating as a visual artist in the First Exhibition of the Surrealists with a series of drawings entitled Grafoautografia. Among the activities he pursued were journalism, film criticism, publishing, public relations, and advertising. His work is scattered across various magazines, notably Árvore (1951-1953), Seara Nova, A Serpente (1951), and Colóquio/Letras. He was president of the Associação Portuguesa de Escritores, and it was during his tenure that the association's awards were recreated. He was also a translator.
