Carlos Frias de Carvalho

Poet and fiction writer. Carlos Manuel das Neves Carvalho, his real name, attended the Chemical Engineering course at the then Instituto Industrial de Lisboa and the Chemistry course at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He was a technical education teacher and worked in the food industry in the field of Laboratory Chemistry. He was exiled in France from 1969 to 1974. He has literary collaborations in newspapers such as Querer, Notícias de Ourém, Diário de Lisboa (Juvenil), Jornal do Ribatejo, República, Engrenagem, Diário Popular, A Capital, etc. He has published texts on the work of various visual artists: João Fragoso, Aida de Sousa Dias, Laura Cesana, among others. He founded and directs the ARA gallery.
