Carlos Parreira

Colonial official. Poet, critic, essayist, decadent prose writer, highly celebrated by the Orpheu generation (Fernando Pessoa had planned his collaboration for issue no. 3 of the magazine). He collaborated with A Águia with prose and verse texts whose stylistic affinities with those of Mário de Sá-Carneiro (notably Céu em Fogo) are surprisingly strong. He considered himself a disciple of Fialho, and associated with Vila-Moura, Pessoa, Sá-Carneiro, António Patrício, and particularly with Santa-Rita Pintor, about whom he published the pamphlet Santa-Rita Pintor In Memoriam, 1919.
