Daughter of fishermen and possessing only primary education, she is considered a folk poet. Her verses, though simple in form, possess the exemplary beauty of everything genuine. Gifted in music, which she plays with ease, it was only in 1995 that she agreed to have her poetry collection Desabafo published.
