Eurico de Sousa

Poet, painter, architect, and secondary school teacher. In 1960, he left for Brazil, where he remained for five years, after which he returned to pursue Architecture studies at the School of Porto, eventually completing the course in Lisbon. He has participated in collective exhibitions since 1974. Hailed by Edmundo Bettencourt (1958) as one of the best of the newest generation, he is included in Luís Marino's Musa Insular (1959), present at the 3ª. Illustrated Poetry exhibition (Funchal City Council, 1989) and in the anthologies O Natal na Voz dos Poetas Madeirenses (1989), Poet'Arte 90, Olhares Atlânticos (1991). He maintained a poetry program on Funchal Radio, titled «As faces dum espaço vazio».
