Gisela Sinfrónio

Poet. She studied violin at the Conservatory of Music of Madeira with Pedro Lami Reis and Bertino Fevereiro, and also studied privately with pianist Maria Campina. The daughter of people from the Algarve, she would eventually settle in Faro, working in a food cooperative and returning to study to complete high school. Her talent has been dispersed across painting, music, poetry and even radio, with a cultural programme through which she has disseminated the work of many poets from the Algarve. She founded the Clube da Simpatia with the recently deceased publicist Antero Nobre, through which she has developed various cultural activities. Moreover, the facilities of this popular institution have housed the University of the Third Age, where Gisela Sinfrónio teaches the musicology course.
