Idália Farinho Custódio

Poet and short story writer, specializing in children's and young adult literature. She holds a degree in Romance Philology from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, and is a secondary school teacher and assistant at the Higher School of Education of Faro. She has been dedicated to collecting ethnographic literature since the sixties (accompanying her cousin Maria Aliete Galhoz), having collaborated on vol. II of Romanceiro Popular Português (Romances Religiosos e Cantigas Narrativas), 1988, organized by Maria Aliete Galhoz. In 1994, encouraged by the Center for Portuguese Popular Traditions of the University of Lisbon, she began a systematic research of Vale Judeu, which resulted in the 2-volume work, Memória Tradicional de Vale Judeu. She contributed poetry to the IV Antologia de Poesia Contemporânea.
