Ilda Pinto Ribeiro

Basic education teacher and poet, Ilda Rosa Lopes Correia Ribeiro, her civil name, completed secondary studies at the Colégio da Nossa Senhora da Conceição in Guimarães and the primary teaching course at the Escola do Magistério Primário in Braga. While a student at the teacher training college, she was a regular contributor to the academic newspaper Escola Remoçada and entered numerous Floral Games. She taught for two years in the district of Braga, spent time in her native village, and eventually settled in Peso da Régua, where she has contributed prose and verse to the periodicals Notícias do Douro, Arrais, and Varanda do Douro. Her poetry has the Douro region as its backdrop.
