Bio
Born in Manosque, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Jean Giono spent much of his life in this setting that inspired many of his works. His writing is marked by a deep connection to the land, the celebration of freedom, and criticism of the industrialization and mechanization of life. Works such as 'The Man Who Planted Trees' (L'homme qui plantait des arbres), 'Regain', and 'Colline' demonstrate his ability to create powerful and poetic narratives, often with an epic tone and rich language.
