Joaquim Falcão Marques Ferrer

He studied Historical-Philosophical Sciences at the University of Coimbra. A novelist among the first to appear under the banner of Neo-Realism (Rampagodos, 1941, which was promptly seized), he returned to the genre only with a second book (Ilha Doida), already with a psychological inclination although still privileging the social aspect according to the canons of the school. A poet revealed late in life, he is also an abstract painter known to few.
