José Aurélio

Poet. His full name being José Aurélio Fernandes Dias de Azevedo, he attended the Faculty of Letters of Lisbon. He contributed to several newspapers and magazines such as O Globo, Aqui e Além, Mundo Literário and, posthumously, to Távola Redonda (fasc. 3). He participated, with David Mourão-Ferreira, João Belchior Viegas, José Rabaça, Vitor Parracho, and others, in the anthology volume Rumos (a collection of poems and short stories, published in 1946), with five poems that would have belonged to the announced book «Versos para o povo e para os meninos infelizes». He gave two conferences on art at the Instituto Superior Técnico. He is represented in the Antologia da Novíssima Poesia Portuguesa (1959) by Maria Álberta Menéres and E. M. de Melo e Castro.
