Poet. He held a degree in Historical-Philosophical Sciences. Contributor to Eros, which he directed between 1951 and 1958. His poetry, as was indeed very common in the 1950s, reflects the fascination with Fernando Pessoa, especially in Primeiro Livro de Odes e Cantata, oscillating between an elegiac awareness of the transience of a «beauty» that it is nevertheless urgent to «capture» and the undeniable evidence of the «dissonances», monotony, and squalor of the «dark grey spectacle» that the «world» has to offer. He contributed to the French journals Profils Littéraires de la France (1958) and Point et Contrepoint, and to the Italian journal Orizzonti di Gloria (1961).
