Luís de Oliveira Nunes

Poet, critic, playwright, and journalist. In 1960 he organized the 1st Youth Art Festival and founded a literary magazine, Juventus. That year he began working as a journalist at the Diário de Lisboa, going on to work for A Capital, Diário de Notícias, Jornal Novo, O Dia, Vida Mundial, and A Luta. Co-founder of O Dia, he was also an editor at O Século, an editorial writer at Jornal Novo, and editor-in-chief of the magazine Informação Cultural, published by the State Secretariat for Culture. He focused primarily on cultural journalism and art criticism. He is currently the director of Orbimédia - Jornalistas Independentes. He studied History, Communication Sciences, Legal and Economic Sciences, French Language and Literature, and the Sociology of Art at the University of Lisbon, the Catholic University, the Autonomous University, and the Universities of Paris and Lille. He served on the board of the Casa da Imprensa, was an artistic advisor and press attaché for the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, an author of radio and television programs, a member of the committee for the restructuring of artistic education at the Ministry of Education, and pedagogical director and manager of the Conservatório Nacional in 1980.
