Margarida Ofélia

Poetess and short story writer. She collaborated with poems and short stories in the newspapers O Ardina, Despertar (CEBI, Alverca), Jornal de Letras e Artes, and Diário Popular, where she maintained the columns «Antologia de Revelações» and «Um Conto por Dia.» She also collaborated in the magazines Girassol Infantil, Lar e Trabalho, Vida e Alegria, Revista do Clube das Donas de Casa, and Busílis. Some of her children's stories have been included in primary and preparatory school reading books since 1975. Branquinho da Fonseca observed that Margarida Ofélia «has an easy and confident style, knows how to tell a story, and puts intention into what she tells. Children must like her stories. And there aren't many who write beautiful, cheerful, and healthy things for them.»
