Maria do Mar Carvalho

Poet and secondary school teacher. Maria de Lourdes Ribeiro Guizado de Carvalho, her real name, graduated in Romance Philology from the Faculty of Letters of the Classical University of Lisbon and, at the same Faculty, completed the Course in Pedagogical Sciences. She entered Technical-Professional Education, first in Leiria, then in Lisbon. After a period at Liceu Maria Amália Vaz de Carvalho as part of her professional internship, she began teaching at Liceu Raínha Dona Leonor, from where she retired in 1992. During her vacation periods, she undertook pedagogical internships at French and Belgian Universities. She has published her poetry in the Peniche newspaper A Voz do Mar. She has six new books of poetry ready for publication.
