Maria Margarida Gama de Oliveira

She graduated in Romance Philology from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, and from 1961 onwards, she was a Portuguese and French teacher in secondary and technical education in Lisbon and Luanda. She worked for two years as a methodologist, as a cooperator, in Cidade da Praia, Cape Verde. She completed internships in France, as a scholarship holder of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, at the University of Besançon, and, as a scholarship holder of the French Embassy, at the University of Grenoble. She participated in Children's and Youth Literature Meetings, in Poetic Journeys of the Sol XXI Cultural Association (1993 and 1994), and in the 1st Congress of Lusophony (1994). In addition to the titles mentioned below, she is co-author of Portuguese and French textbooks and has Crónicas de Cabo Verde in press. Andanças e Lambanças do Burrinho Saracoteios was distinguished and recommended for publication in 1982 by the jury of the Portuguese Writers' Association, awaiting publication. She is represented in the anthologies Antologia de Contos: 31 Autores, 1997, and 100 Anos Federico Garcia Lorca: Homenagem dos Poetas Portugueses, 1998.
