Mário Cristino da Silva

Poet. Descended from Algarve families, he pursued his professional career in Radio, where he was a program producer, announcer, and radio theater director. Additionally, he created and directed amateur theater groups (especially children's theater) and wrote several revues for the stage. He has literary contributions in publications such as Voz Académica de Queluz, Diário do Alentejo, Vida Ribatejana, Jornal de Sintra, O Benfica, Florinhas de Gradil, A Democracia do Sul, Gazeta do Sul, O Mundo Português (Rio de Janeiro), etc. As a playwright, short story writer, and poet, he has been widely awarded in literary competitions. He is represented in the VII Antologia da Poesia Contemporânea (an anthology of world poetry organized by Luís Filipe Soares, 1990) and in the IV Antologia da Poesia Portuguesa Contemporânea, by Edições Orfeu (1992). He has a vast unpublished poetic work.
