Miguel Maurício Ramalho

Eighteenth-century poet, he is the presumed author of, among other works published anonymously or of not yet clearly identified authorship, a Carta Apologética de Um Amigo a Outro, em Que Lhe Pareceu o Primeiro Tomo do «Verdadeiro Método de Estudar» e em Que Defende Alguns Autores Nele Criticados, à Qual Se Ajunta Um Romance do Mesmo Autor [...], 1752, in which he challenges that work by Luís António Verney. He also wrote Sentimentos Métricos (1736) and Lisboa Reedificada (1780), a heroic poem in nine cantos referring to the 1755 earthquake.
