Octávio de Marialva

Pseudonym of the poet and publicist Octávio José Teixeira dos Santos, who hid under many other names such as Philosopher Y, Knight of the Swan, Prince of Arcadia, etc. Turning to theosophy and hermetic sciences, he promoted courses in trophology, mentalism, and astrognosis in Madeira. He disseminated his poetry in pamphlets, which he also scattered, alongside fiction, essay writing, and dramaturgy, in regional, national (Revista Portuguesa...), and foreign publications. Included in O Natal na Voz dos Poetas Madeirenses (1989), Poet'Arte 90 and Poesia na Ilha (1991).
