Paul Marie Joseph Fort was born in Reims, France, on February 1, 1872. He studied in Paris and, influenced by Symbolist poets, developed a distinct lyrical and narrative style. Fort is famous for having created the "Ballades françaises," musical poems that became popular and distinguished him in the literary scene. His work is extensive and diverse, covering themes ranging from love and nature to medieval legends and fairy tales. He was also a playwright and a respected member of several literary academies. Paul Fort passed away on April 20, 1960.
