Palindrome

From Greek palindromos: running back again. A curiosity of language play; exploited in visual poetry and concrete poetry for their perfect symmetry.

Definition

A word, phrase, verse, or sentence that reads the same forwards and backwards.

Example

'Madam, I'm Adam'; 'A man, a plan, a canal, Panama' — visual and structural symmetry.
