Bio
Pierre Reverdy was born in Narbonne, France, on September 13, 1889. He moved to Paris in 1910, where he approached artistic and literary circles, becoming a friend of Guillaume Apollinaire and Louis Aragon. In 1917, he published "La Poésie", a fundamental text that expounds his theories on poetic creation, advocating for poetry that arises from "found reality" and the image. He was one of the first to join surrealism, although his relationship with the group was complex and marked by ruptures. His poetry, with titles such as "Les Ardoises du toit" (1918) and "La Liberté des mers" (1929), is characterized by fragmentation, boldness of metaphors, and a melancholic and introspective tone. He died in Chelles on June 17, 1960.
