Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa (February 18, 1836 – August 16, 1886) was an Indian mystic and yogi who became a central figure in the Bramo Samaj and one of India's most revered saints. Ramakrishna is remembered for his devotion to the goddess Kali and for his mystical experiences. His teachings focused on the unity of religions and the pursuit of truth through various spiritual paths. He attracted a large following, including many who would later become prominent in the Vedanta movement. Ramakrishna emphasized the importance of direct experience of God over blind belief or dogma.
