Romana Rosa

Nurse and poet. She studied in Faro and at the Artur Navarra Nursing School in Lisbon, taking various professional training courses in various specialties over the years. She supervised internships for nursing students in the School Health and Public Health sectors. In 1992 she began collaborating in the regional press, with poetry and prose on education and health issues, revealing great sensitivity at the time in understanding and debating the social problems faced by today's youth. Professionally, she performed her duties at the Vasconcelos Porto Sanatorium, the District Hospital and the Health Centre of Faro. As a poet, she has received several literary awards in Portugal and Brazil, with her work represented in various anthologies. The Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Culture of Faro published a book by her on environmental defence, dedicated to children. She is secretary of the General Assembly of the Association of Journalists and Writers of the Algarve, and belongs to the Orpheu Gathering, the Faro Poets Gathering and the Clube da Simpatia.
