Cochat Osório

Poet and short story writer. Son of Portuguese parents settled in Angola, he began his secondary studies in Luanda, which he completed in Lisbon, where he graduated in Medicine from the University. Some time after graduation, he returned to Luanda where he practiced medicine until 1975, the year he returned to Lisbon, where he settled and continued his activity as a doctor. He debuted in the magazine Cultura, from Luanda, in 1945, and later collaborated with various publications, notably Mensagem, from Casa dos Estudantes do Império, in Lisbon, the cultural supplement of Jornal de Angola, from Luanda, and Vector, from Nova Lisboa (today Huambo).
