Bio
Ficino translated the works of Plato and Plotinus into Latin, making them accessible to a wider audience and promoting the study of ancient philosophy. His work "The Doctrine of Plato" and his commentaries on Platonic works were fundamental to the dissemination of Neoplatonic thought. He also dedicated himself to theological and astrological studies, seeking to harmonize pagan philosophy with Christian doctrine. His role as leader of the Platonic Academy of Florence under the patronage of the Medici consolidated him as one of the most important intellectual figures of his time.
