Both abundance and lack exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend. When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present; love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure; the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience Heaven on earth. Sarah Breathnach
When we become more fully aware that our success is due in large measure to the loyalty, helpfulness, and encouragement we have received from others, our desire grows to pass on similar gifts. Gratitude spurs us on to prove ourselves worthy of what others have done for us. The spirit of gratitude is a powerful energizer. Wilfred A. Peterson

Live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light. Give thanks for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. And if perchance you see no reason for giving thanks, rest assured the fault is in yourself. Tecumseh Shawnee Chief

Yet even in reaching for the beautiful there is beauty, and also in suffering whatever it is that one suffers en route.

Plato (c. 428/427 or 424/423 – 348/347 BC) was an Athenian philosopher who, along with his mentor Socrates and his student Aristotle, laid the foundations of Western and Greek philosophy. His best-known work is the Theory of Forms, according to which the sensible world is an imperfect copy of an intelligible world, of Forms or Ideas. Plato wrote numerous philosophical dialogues, in which Socrates is usually the main interlocutor. He founded the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. His ideas profoundly influenced philosophy, theology, science, and politics. He is considered one of the greatest thinkers of all time.
