Sandro Veronesi

Sandro Veronesi is one of the most important contemporary Italian writers. Born in Prato, Tuscany, Veronesi has built a solid literary career, marked by the winning of important awards and international recognition.

Career and Work

His literary debut took place in 1994 with the novel "A Vida Como Ela É" (Life As It Is). However, it was with "Caos Calmo" (Calm Chaos), published in 2005, that he achieved worldwide fame, winning the Premio Strega, one of the most prestigious awards in Italian literature. The book was adapted into a film in 2008, directed by Antonello Grimaldi.

Other notable works include "O Caos Calmo" (sequel to "Caos Calmo"), "Não Haverá Mais o Amanhã" (Non c'è più l'inferno - There is no more hell) and "O Colibri" (The Hummingbird), which earned him his second Premio Strega in 2020. "O Colibri" was also adapted for cinema, in a film directed by Francesca Archibugi.
