Henri Bosco was born in Avignon, France, in 1888. A novelist and poet, his literary work is deeply connected to the region of Provence, where he set many of his novels. He is known for creating immersive atmospheres and for exploring themes such as childhood, memory, mystery, and nature. "L'Enfant et la Rivière" (1945) is one of his most famous works, a bildungsroman that evokes the freedom and discoveries of childhood. Bosco was also a teacher and dedicated himself to cultural dissemination. He received the Grand Prize for Literature from the French Academy in 1953. He passed away in Nice in 1976.
