Humanity and Solidarity

It’s no fish ye’re buying—it’s men’s lives.

To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known.

We look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. The first is freedom of speech and

I see one-third of a nation ill-housed, ill-clad, ill-nourished.

Created half to rise, and half to fall;

Cry, the beloved country.

Man is only a reed, the weakest thing in nature; but he is a thinking reed.

He’s a human being, and a terrible thing is happening to him. So attention must be paid.

No great improvements in the lot of mankind are possible, until a great change takes place in the fundamental constitution of their modes of thought.

All men have the mind which cannot bear [to see the suffering of] others.

From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.

Not in the clamour of the crowded street,

In giving freedom to the slave, we assure freedom to the free—honourable alike in what we give and what we preserve. We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last, best hope of earth.
