New Beginnings and Rebirth

I am an idealist. I don’t know where I’m going, but I’m on my way.

Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but in the ability to start over.

MY SUN SETS TO RISE AGAIN.

A great flame follows a little spark.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in, forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day, begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

All glory comes from daring to begin.

It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.

Throughout the centuries there were men who took first steps, down new roads, armed with nothing but their own vision.

We will hope that future historians will explain the morbid symptoms of present-day society as the childhood ailments of an aspiring humanity, due entirely to the excessive speed at which civilization was advancing.

All things have second birth;

Ultima Cumaei venit iam carminis aetas;

The world’s great age begins anew,

At last he rose, and twitched his mantle blue:

All this will not be finished in the first 100 days. Nor will it be finished in the first 1,000 days, nor in the life of this Administration, nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet. But let us begin.

We stand today on the edge of a new frontier.

I’d like to get away from earth awhile

What we call the beginning is often the end

One short sleep past, we wake eternally,

We were the first that ever burst

Wandering between two worlds, one dead,

Piece by piece I seem to re-enter the world.

For this is action, this not being sure, this careless Preparing, sowing the seeds crooked in the furrow, Making ready to forget, and always coming back To the mooring of starting out, that day so long ago.

Harrow the house of the dead; look shining at New styles of architecture, a change of heart.
